We are looking for Volunteers to assist with an
afternoon evening program supporting people living with dementia.
Your role would include assisting a lifestyle worker with setting
up and running a specific Dementia based program. (after
4pm)
You must have:
Have a passion for assisting people living with Dementia
Previous experience in communicating with people with
dementia
A positive attitude and compassion
A shared respect for Elders
A current police check
Preparedness to commit to helping deliver the Aged Care Quality
Standards, best practice and upholding the Charter of Aged Care
Rights

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION
Volunteer Family Connect is an evidence based program that
provides social and practical support to families in their homes on
a weekly basis for up to 2 hours. The volunteer works in
partnership with the family to offer information, friendly support
and encouragement in a non-threatening, non-directive and
non-judgemental manner.
Do you live in, or close by to, Sale and have a few hours a week preferably, or fortnightly, to spare? We have a seniior male client who would very much benefit from either a male or female to visit him in his home with the view of sharing some lively conversation. Could this be you? If you feel comfortable engaging others in conversation, are a good listener, and can turn your mind to discussing a range of topics, this opportunity to engage with another could be the opportunity you are looking for.
Vision Australia is keen to establish an on-going basket weaving craft session, based at The Hub, for our blind and low vision clients in the Bairnsdale area. If you have skills in this area and would enjoy sharing this skill with others, please get in touch.
